Castro Country Club
Joy, Wisdom, Courage, Serenity
The volunteer-based Castro Country Club, a fiscally sponsored program of the nonprofit Baker Places, has been a fixture of San Francisco's LGBT community for 27 years. The mission of the Club is to provide a clean & sober gathering place for the queer community in the Castro neighborhood and to help foster a strong, healthy and diverse recovery community in San Francisco.
Open to the public every day, the Club hosts12-step meetings and other recovery celebrations and community events. Enjoy fellowship with Peet's coffee and a pastry on the back patio, lounge or free wireless Internet cafe', or sit on the fabled front steps and watch the boys and girls go by!
Keep the Steps in the Castro!
The building that houses the Club will soon be listed for sale. The Castro Country Club and Baker Places have launched Keep the Steps in the Castro to raise the funds to secure a long-term or permanent home for the Club. Whether for the existing building or an alternative location in the neighborhood, these funds will be held in a restricted account and will be used to purchase, secure a long-term lease, and/or modify space to suit the needs of the Club.
Please consider becoming a dues-paying member of the Castro Country Club. To join and make a tax-deductible donation to Keep the Steps in the Castro today, go to www.castrocountryclub.org and click "DONATE NOW."
